I did a little bit of research into thriller directors, this is one of the directors i looked at!
Alfred Hitchcock is perhaps Britains most famous and highly regarded film director, but he is best known for his work when he left the country to go to Hollywood!
His most notorious films are Vertigo, Psycho and The Birds, he was known as the 'master of suspense'.
He believed that cinema was a visual medium for him dialogue and sound should remain secondary to the image in telling the story, when people think of Hitchcock they tend to remember images such as the shower scene from Psycho rather then the lines of dialogue!
classic Hitchcock films normally have the plot of an innnocent protagonist falsely accused of a crime and becomes involved in a web of intrigue.
By researching Hitchcock it can give us a few ideas, knowing he is the 'master of suspense' we can look at his films and see if we can build any ideas from him on how to build suspense for our thriller!!!!!
